Daniel Caesar — Who Hurt You?

Daniel Caesar’s latest is mesmerizing ode to the unique Atlanta sound, and to the nightclubs that inspire it. “Who Hurt You” is a revamp for Caesar, a departure from his typically distraught love songs. He sounds removed, and emotionally unattached from the song’s subject, a direct contrast to many of the songs on Freudian. The drowsy synth-laced production, coupled with a brief appearance from T-Pain provide for a bountiful, engulfing soundscape. “Who Hurt You” is beautiful, lush R&B, and a new sound from one of Canada’s finest songbirds.
